The Biggest Loser Club Jewish House Challege to launch 29 July

For the first time ever in Australia, a religious community is tackling the obesity epidemic and Biggest Loser star trainer Shannan Ponton, Series 3 winner Sam Rouen and nutritionist Dr Clare Collins will be there to cheer them on.

At 7:30pm on Tuesday 29 July 2008, The Jewish House charity will host an information night at Bondi’s famous Hakoah Club to officially launch The Biggest Loser Club Jewish House Weight-Loss Challenge – a 12-week program starting August 1.

Not only has Rabbi Mendel Kastel, CEO of Jewish House (pictured right), challenged Sydney’s Jewish congregation to lose weight, he’s also challenged local businesses to donate $1 for every 1kg lost by the community. Proceeds will be donated to Jewish House, a not-for-profit crisis centre based in Sydney.

The Jewish Community is the first large group to use The Biggest Loser Club’s Teams feature and is a wonderful example of how a community can rally together to lose weight, get healthy and help others along the way!

How to support the challenge

The challenge costs $99 and includes 12 week’s access to The Club. To participate, simply register for The Biggest Loser Club and enter the code JH08 when asked for a promotion code or voucher. To make a donation to Jewish House, visit the Jewish House website or call 02 9386 0770.

How to set up your own challenge

If you’re inspired by the Jewish community’s efforts to get healthy, why not set up a similar challenge in your office, school, church or neighbourhood? For more details, check out our Teams information page or contact customer service
